Biography
The level of experience and expertise that I bring to a project is a direct result of my history as a professional in the Landscape, Design, and Development industries.
I graduated with a BLA from the University of Georgia in 1980 and began working for a nationally recognized Landscape Architecture firm in Atlanta. I was involved in the design and detailing of projects in Saudi Arabia, as well as construction detailing for local large scale developments such as Century Center, the Galleria and the Overlook Office Park.
Building on that experience, I spent the next several years working with a resort and recreational development firm…golf courses and ski resorts. There I was involved in design, client and contractor negotiations, as well as the on-site coordination of construction of resort projects located in Vermont, Hilton Head, Boca Raton and the Florida Keys.
An enlightening year followed as a Manager/Designer for an Atlanta landscape contracting and maintenance company. During that year I purchased, scheduled, managed and directed the installation the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, the renovation of the Atlanta Hilton and Towers, the landscaping of a few apartment communities and numerous small to medium scale commercial and residential projects.
After this period as a contractor, I worked for one of Atlanta’s leading developers of multi-family projects as a Project Landscape Architect. After designing, directing construction and completing several apartment and condominium project build-outs, I began independent practice in 1987.
